Saano kosheli, small gifts, relief, useful, portraits of different faces, kaleidoscope of cultures

WHY AID IN NEPAL?

Saano kosheli means ‘small gift’ in Nepali.

With this small gift, we hope to contribute to the improvement of living conditions in the areas of health, education and employment.

Most Nepalese can’t even afford to buy basic necessities for family life. That is why Saano kosheli focuses on gifts that are useful and functional and improve everyday life. If possible, we buy gifts that are made in Nepal and thus contribute to local employment.

Our small and useful gifts are based on the principles of sustainable development: respect for the individual, the culture and the environment.

Our small and useful gifts always target a specific group: women and girls in the village, young or old people or the whole family.

Saano kosheli works on a small scale, on the spot and in direct contact with our colleagues and local NGOs in different regions of Nepal.

WHY NEPAL?

Nepal is a country that is not spared from nature. Because of its location on the geological fault line where the Indian plate slides under the Eurasian plate, earthquakes occur regularly
Due to climate change, the rainy season lasts longer than previously, the vulnerable infrastructure is even more affected and roads are impassable due to numerous landslides. Floods are intensifying, partly because of the melting of the eternal snow on the highest peaks in the world.
In addition to all of this, the unstable political situation and corruption also play a major role.
People have no choice but to deal with it, life goes on. The Nepalese are poor but incredibly resilient and have a great ability to adapt.
The population is optimistic, friendly, modest and always hospitable even if they have nothing, they share everything with their breezy laugh.
